Whitby Gothic Weekend
Dracula Drop Bungee Jump
* a chance to perform a death defying stunt and raise money for the Lifeboat!
RNLI Dracula
Drop 24 April 2010 Whitby Harbour *
"The RNLI is holding its fourth annual 'Dracula Drop' on Saturday 24 April 2010. We invite you to come and have the experience of a lifetime, and support the RNLI, in the beautiful coastal town of Whitby.
To bungee for FREE,
all we ask is that you raise at least £100 in sponsorship (£30
registration + min £100 sponsorship) to help the Royal National
Lifeboat Institution save lives at sea. Places at the event are
limited and will be issued on a first come first served basis so
don't delay or you could miss out on this ultimate adrenaline
experience.
All
jumpers will receive an RNLI bungee tshirt as well as full
fundraising support - and anyone raising over £250
will
receive a free DVD of their jump, so you can relive your moment
of glory forever!
To sign up, please complete the application forms attached and return them both to RNLI North with your deposit of £30 (please enclose a cheque made payable to RNLI). We'll then get straight back to you with your Action Pack and an estimated jump time".
So, there you have
it, a charity event at the famous Whitby Gothic Weekend, in which
you can leap off a high platform over Whitby Harbour and help to
raise money for this excellent good cause!

Such events have been on the go for a few years now. For example, in 2009, it was:
"Want to
experience the ultimate adrenaline rush? Want to fulfil one of
your life ambitions? Want to raise some money for the lifesaving
service offered by the RNLI's volunteer crews?
Then why
don't you throw yourself off a platform 160ft over Whitby
harbour, with the town and the ruined Abbey as your backdrop?!
The RNLI is holding its third annual 'Dracula Drop' " etc.
If you'd like to volunteer, you can contact Chloe on that UK phone number, or e-mail the address above (obviously you'd replace the # with @ but if I'd not obfuscated it you can guess how much spam she'd get after the spam-bots harvested it).
